From the Vanderbilt College Republicans Constitution, Section 2. “The purpose of this organization shall be to provide a conservative voice on campus, promote conservative values, and provide students with the opportunities and resources to learn about our party. We also seek to make a difference in the community by aiding in the local, state, and national elections and movements of conservatives.”
As Republicans, we are unified by a shared commitment to a set of conservative values. Among them are beliefs in small government, strong military, low taxation, freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms, capitalist markets, a commitment to the wellbeing of all American citizens, and that all persons are created equal.
In these morally unsteady and highly divisive times, it is the commitment to the realization of these values in our government and our lives that unifies us as Republicans. The political decision faced by this nation holds more weight than any other of our lifetimes. The victor of this election will hold control over American foreign and domestic policy both through the Office of the Presidency and the placement of judges on our Supreme Court. To preserve our Union and maintain our strength, Americans need a leader who will stand in the gap before us. In a time of deep division on both sides of the aisle, the Vanderbilt College Republicans acknowledge the necessity of unifying around our common values to support the candidate who best embodies them. With that goal in mind, echoed by the core tenants of our club constitution, the Vanderbilt College Republicans proudly endorse the Republican Nominee for President of the United States and all other Republican candidates seeking office this election season. God Bless our Land.
