VPR Writer Cole Patterson joined the Vanderbilt Political Review today initially to compare the figures of the late Charlie Kirk and the ascendance of now-Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. The conversation, as you will see, got a bit sidetracked (as a happy accident) with the question of the degree to which right-wing figures like Kirk embody “the f-word”: fascism.

Cole Patterson is a sophomore majoring in Physics and Philosophy. His political interests include democratic socialism, antifascism, and the environment. He is also a member of the Society of Physics Students and the Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering Tech Crew.
Noah Jenkins, Podcast Director
Noah Jenkins is a senior from Kissimmee, Florida studying economics and history. He works for Senator Marsha Blackburn’s (R-TN) reelection campaign and leads both the Vanderbilt and Tennessee College Republicans. He also was a Summer Honors Scholar with the American Enterprise Institute and has had opinion pieces published in Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report. Besides politics, he is active in Vanderbilt Moot Court, qualifying for the pre-national tournament last season.
